Centaur Theatre’s last show of their 2009-2010 season is Trudeau Stories, written and performed by Brooke Johnson and directed by Allyson McMackon. Johnson is a graduate of Montreal’s own National Theatre School of Canada, where she studied acting. It was also while attending this institution that Johnson met the living legend Pierre Trudeau. She was twenty-three years old at the time and he was in his mid-sixties. The unlikely friendship blossomed immediately.Anyone as jaded as I probably am would immediately suspect the renowned womanizer was simply looking to add another notch to his belt, but Johnson quickly dispels these wicked thoughts in her piece and makes you feel guilty for thinking them in the first place. She assures us that the two of them were merely lonely souls coming together to talk about literature and theatre.

After about a hour and a half, police began trapping protesters in Queen's Park, as the anarchists changed clothes and vanished, leaving peaceful protesters against police charge and pepper sprays bullets.
